Hello, my name is Mimi and I specialise in helping people with stress, anxiety and worry. I use a mixture of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), hypnotherapy and mindfulness to help you change the way you think, feel and behave.
I specialise in stress and anxiety (including phobias and insomnia), and also love helping people to break habits (such as nail biting) and develop healthier lifestyles.
I believe that therapy should be grounded in scientific evidence (in other words, based on what has been proved, in scientific research, to work) and collaborative (working with you, rather than doing therapy "to" you - after all, you are the expert on you!). I'm also passionate about helping you develop the skills to help yourself - teaching you to become your own therapist, not reliant on me or tied into a long-term therapy programme.

I work with you to help you understand what is maintaining your stress, anxiety or worry, and develop a plan with you to help you break that cycle. That means therapy is practical and focussed - we work on here and now, stopping the vicious cycle of stress or anxiety in its tracks, rather than working through issues from the past. We work together to understand what's stopping your stress or anxiety from going away, so that we can come up with a plan to get the best results in the fastest time.

I worked for over 15 years in blue-chip corporate business, so I understand first hand the pressures of a fast-paced, pressure-filled environment, and the difficulties of juggling this with family life. I am passionate about prioritising mental and physical wellbeing and have always had a curiosity about what makes people think and behave the way they do. I feel privileged to put these passions to use in my therapy work, working with people to help them make positive changes in their lives.

I'm a cognitive behavioural therapist and hypnotherapist. I am accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Evidence-based Psychological Therapies (CBT) from the Charlie Waller Institute (University of Reading) and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. I have an MSc in Behavioural Decision Sciences (the psychology of behaviour and decision making) and a BSc in Psychology.
I also teach hypnotherapy and CBT at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, and supervise other hypnotherapists.
