About Me

I know choosing an anonymous counsellor just from a few words and a photo on a screen can be unnerving and it may be difficult to feel like you are making an informed decision, so I want our initial consultation to be an opportunity for you to make sure I am the right person for you to work with and for me to make sure I have to experience and expertise to work with you. After this consultation, there is no requirement or expectation for you to book another session and I will always be guided by you, what you want and what you need.

I believe all difficulties we experience with regard to our mental health are episodes and not a way of life. I see my role as a counsellor being to help you to develop and build resilience, self-confidence and self-esteem, so you can master the art of living without living being a burden.

I am a Chrysalis trained counsellor and have completed the AIM Awards Level 3 in Hypnotherapy & Counselling Skills, AIM Awards Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and BA (Hons) in Childhood & Youth Studies. I have over 25 years’ experience of working with children 0-18 years, parents and adult individuals.

I use Person-Centred therapy techniques, as well as incorporate other approaches, such as hypnotherapy, CBT, mindfulness, and journaling, to ensure a truly tailored counselling experience for my client.I offer face-to-face, walk & talk, email, instant messaging, telephone and video sessions, so you are able to feel comfortable with the medium and the sessions are as convenient for you as possible. If you would like more information on any of these, please feel free to drop me a message or an email. In all client work, I adhere to the National Counselling Society (NCS) Code of Ethics, which can be found online, and I have a full and clear enhanced DBS checks for both children and vulnerable adults.
