About Me

Thanks for viewing my profile. I am an Integrative Counsellor and the foundation of my training comes from a Person Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic approach. This enables me to draw on a number of different ways of working specifically to support you.

My training over the years has also taken to me explore alternative ways of working and after studying with the Institute of Arts, I have found the use of creativity, imagery and metaphor extremely beneficial for those who are not yet able to verbalise what is being felt.

Predominantly my sessions take place in a counselling room but I always like to think outside of the box and as of late I have brought counselling to the great outdoors. Walking in nature is great for the soul, body and mind and many find peace amongst it. Do let me know if this is something you would like to try.  Following on from working outside I can also offer Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy which includes the handling of horses and the participation in exercises with them specially designed to help you process and explore deep rooted emotions. More information on this is on my website.

Counselling face to face is not for everyone and for some, being in the comfort of your own home feels easier and safer to talk things through. For this reason, counselling via telephone/online/face time is also something I can offer you.

I work with adults and young people and alongside my private practice, I have for the last 7 years overseen a therapeutic department in a large secondary school working with students aged 11-19. This role has included assessing all the young people accessing the service, supporting them in a counselling context and designing and facilitating group programmes targeting issues that young people face today including anxiety, body image, self-esteem, cyber bullying, family breakdown, drug and alcohol abuse and self-harm.
