About Me

I am from the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad. I completed my master's degree in Counselling Children and Young People at the University of Northampton. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.

I am a naturally caring and empathetic person with an open and optimistic approach. My youthful and modern approach and appearance help me to build a therapeutic relationship with my younger clients, especially as they may be more comfortable to converse and interact. I believe the individual is the expert of themselves and my approach is to try to learn as much as I can about them to assist in the best possible ways from select therapeutic methods that have proven to be successful. Opening to you, a non-judgment, comfortable and secure place to disclose your issues and burdens, I extend to you undivided attention and counsel to the best of my abilities.

I am an integrative counsellor, meaning that I use a variety of modalities that are tailored to your needs. One of these include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This works with your emotions, behaviours and reactions and determining how we can get the best outcome of any situation that you are in, whether it is a situation that triggers anxiety, stress, depression or any other mental difficulties.

Animal assisted therapy is slowly being integrated into the mental health services within the UK. Now, I am offering a unique service of counselling children and young people with the assistance of animal assisted therapy. There is also the option of individual counselling without the animals. Working therapeutically with animals has proven to have many effective results such as a decrease in stress and anxiety, helping with anger management, improvements in physiological responses, among many others. I would be delighted to give more information should you be interested in this service.
