About me

Many of the people I work with are used to coping. They get up, go to work, look after other people and keep things moving, even when internally they feel overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected or exhausted. Sometimes they know exactly what's wrong but still find themselves repeating the same patterns. Sometimes they're not even sure why they're struggling because, from the outside, life appears to be functioning well. As an integrative counsellor, I work with people who want more than reassurance. Together we explore not only what is happening, but why certain thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationship patterns continue to show up, even when they no longer serve us. My approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Existential Therapy and Person-Centred principles. In practice, this means I tailor therapy to the individual rather than expecting people to fit a particular model. I have a particular interest in: • anxiety and overwhelm • ADHD and neurodivergence • recovery from unhealthy coping strategies • relationship patterns • people-pleasing and hyper-independence • recovery following emotionally unhealthy or controlling relationships I aim to provide a therapeutic space that is supportive, collaborative and compassionate, while also offering the challenge that meaningful change often requires. Therapy isn't about fixing what is wrong with you. Often, it's about understanding the strategies that helped you survive, deciding which still serve you and building trust in something different.
