About me

Hello, my name is Kerry. I'm an experienced UKCP-registered, Integrative Psychotherapist offering online psychological therapy for adults (18+ years). From my private practice in Bucks, I provide online psychotherapy and counselling to adults aged 18 and above. I provide both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy and offer a warm, confidential space in which you can feel safe supported and understood - even when your life is at its most difficult. With over 11 years of clinical therapeutic expertise, my aim as a therapist is for us to explore and make sense of what lies behind your current difficulties - to open up the possibilities for change. Whether you have a specific problem such as relationship or work challenges, family difficulties, loss, personal trauma, a big decision to make or are feeling sad, stressed or worried, my integrative and holistic approach to therapy can help. One of the most important things when looking for a therapist is to find someone you feel comfortable with, can relate to, and feel supported by. I understand it can be hard to share difficult, painful, or embarrassing things. And I want to acknowledge the anxiety that can arise when deciding to ask for support. Whatever your reasons are for seeking out help, please know they are valid. While it often feels nerve-wracking to take the first step, know that by doing so, you are already initiating an important change for yourself. Together, we can explore the issues that are troubling you and find a better way forward. Please look at my website to get more information about me and my practice. WHAT TO DO NEXT If you’d like to enquire further, please get in touch to request your free 15-minute Introductory call. You can then see how comfortable you feel with me. I do prefer to talk to you directly before arranging your first 50-minute appointment (also known as a ‘Consultation’) as this can give you a sense of me before we meet. To contact me, you can email me or send me a message using the ‘Contact Me’ page on my website. If you prefer to call, and I’m not available when you ring me, do leave me a voicemail so that I can get back to you.

I provide a free Introductory telephone call (15 minutes). PAYING FOR YOUR THERAPY SESSIONS SELF-FUNDING: £70.00 per session (including Consultation appointment(s). Payment to be made via bank transfer before session start. INSURANCE: When your Health Insurance company includes cover for counselling and psychotherapy, you'll need to speak to them to let them know that you are currently seeking therapy or counselling for a mental health issue. Once they have given you their approval to proceed, (sometimes known as 'Authorisation), we can arrange your first 50-minute Consultation appointment. You do not need their authorisation to request a free Introductory call with me, although some people find it gives them peace of mind to have spoken with their provider first to check they are covered, how many sessions they are eligible for, and can go ahead in principle. When you plan to use your private health insurance for your therapy, thank you for letting me know in your initial enquiry. I am registered with Aviva, AXA Health and WPA, and the name of my psychotherapy business is 'Psychotherapy with Kerry Williams'.

EXPERIENCE I’ve been a psychotherapist and counsellor for over 11 years. During my early clinical career, I worked for several years at a counselling organisation in Chesham, Bucks, as part of their Psychotherapy Team. In 2016, I founded my Private Practice. For a further four years, I provided in-person counselling and psychotherapy to adults throughout the Chilterns region in South East England. In March 2020, I evolved my practice into a full online psychotherapy business, enabling me to extend my geographical reach throughout the UK. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I spent 20 years in the field of international corporate people development. Having navigated both the rewards and challenges of fast-paced and often demanding professional landscapes, I understand first-hand what it takes to thrive in high-pressure environments, and I really get how complex professional situations and personal challenges can sometimes be acutely difficult to manage. With this unique understanding and perspective, I am therapeutically well-positioned to help you navigate periods of choppy professional terrain - so that you can begin to regain your balance and reignite your professional edge, whilst also working with you to ensure you feel your work life is in alignment with your vision and values. TRAINING I am clinically trained in a type of therapy called Integrative Psychotherapy, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, (both evidence-based and holistic) to ensure I effectively adapt how I work to meet your unique needs. While I am experienced in working across a wide range of psychological and mental health issues, I typically support individuals experiencing challenges that include anxiety, low mood, relationship and work challenges, family difficulties, stress/burn-out, low self-esteem and self-criticism, as well as traumatic experiences, life transitions, and difficulties adjusting to living with a physical health condition (including ME/CFS and Long Covid). I am always happy to discuss any difficulties you may be experiencing to see if I can help. QUALIFICATIONS I hold the following Qualifications and Professional Memberships: · Postgraduate Diploma (Dip-Psych) in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy · Certificate in Introduction to Counselling Skills CPCAB · UKCP Accreditation · BACP Registration
