Kay McKenzie
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Seeking counselling can be daunting and in respect of this, I offer a warm, supportive environment in which you can explore difficult issues that may be causing emotional distress. My belief in the collaborative nature of counselling means that we work together to identify the causes of such distress and the methods to deal with them in the present. I am a fully qualified integrative Counsellor with extensive experience and I am able to utilise methods from each of the three main approaches to helping people - The Person Centred, The Cognitive Behavioural and the Psychodynamic, uniquely creating a therapy plan for each client. I work from a purpose built garden studio, in quiet, private surroundings.
I have experience of working in GP Practice, an Addiction Advisory Service as well as co-facilitating groups of anxiety sufferers within a Mental Health setting. I have a particular experience and interest in working with clients who have low self-esteem, suffer anxiety and/or depression and those experiencing Co-Dependency.
I can offer you a warm welcome, a safe-space in therapeutic surroundings, support through your difficulties and, gentle challenge to self-beliefs and patterns that may no longer be serving you. My aim is always to assist you in dealing with issues which are pressing, whilst learning the reasons they have come into play, so that you may create any required change.
