About Me

I am a Counselling Psychologist and Existential-phenomenological Psychotherapist. I have a doctoral degree and I am accredited with HCPC and BACP. I have worked as a clinical lead and supervisor at EASE Wellbeing within primary care in the NHS, as well as working at the charity Mind with adults and Place2Be with adolescents in secondary schools. I have over 10 years experience working in both the NHS and private practise, working with individuals, couples, adults and teens (anyone over 12 years). I have experience working in a short-term goal-orientated and open-ended way. I continue to attend regular trainings, conferences and supervision.

I will help you to understand your feelings, thoughts and what you are experiencing in a non-judgemental & confidential space. I will help you to identify certain behavioural patterns that have been useful in the past, but are no longer serving you today. Through the re-examination of the roles you might be adopting in relation to yourself and others, your choices & beliefs, a new perspective and understanding into yourself and your difficulties can be reached. This new understanding will help new choices and possibilities to arise and a sense of clarity to emerge. I will provide a space in which you can truly be yourself, without fear of expectation or judgement. I work in an integrative way and adopt my approach to meet each individual's particular needs. In the sessions, I will ask lots of questions to understand your difficulties, what it is like to be you and to promote self-reflection. Where relevant, I will use our relationship to make observations, in order to help highlight blindspots and ways of relating. I will vary my approach depending on your hopes for therapy and how you feel most supported, be it goals to work through, space to talk, homework or not.

I have experienced therapy myself and therefore I understand what a big step signing up to therapy is and how hard it can be to find a therapist that you truly connect with and believe in. The most important aspect of therapy is the relationship and therefore I encourage you to get in touch with a few therapists, in order to see who you feel most comfortable with. I would be very happy if you would like to send me an email with some brief details about what you would like help with, or speak to me on the phone to ensure that I am the best person to see you.
