About Me

I am a relational therapist and I take the view that from infancy up to the here-and-now our minds develop through our relationships with others and within the sociocultural context of our lives. I believe we are all doing the best we can in the circumstances that we are in, but sometimes difficulties and traumas can make life feel unmanageable or can manifest in a multitude of emotional and physical symptoms. I will aim to explore with you your experience of the here-and-now in order to help you make meaning of your experience of life and to bring awareness to how you negotiate relationships.

I have trained as a Transactional Analyst and I draw on theories from different schools of thought, including interpersonal, object relations, self-psychology, intersubjective theory and attachment theories. I also utilise current research in neuroscience, attachment and affect regulation.

A relational approach accommodates for issues of identity, attachment, neurodiversity, politics and other differences that may or may not be visible or consciously felt. My clinic is LGBTQIA+, kink and sex-worker positive and I take an active stance in thinking about difference and discrimination.

Fees

I charge £70 per 50-minute session for individuals and £100 per 60-minute session for couples. Within my practise I make space for small number of lower-cost sessions, please contact me to discuss this if the cost of psychotherapy is prohibitive due to personal circumstances.

It is common practise for psychotherapy sessions to be scheduled for the same time each week. The regular and fixed timing of a session has been evidenced as an important part of the work. Whilst this can sometimes seem inflexible, I have observed that it is always beneficial to the client’s needs and contributes to the safe and ethical framework of good practise. The number of sessions will depend on your circumstances and what you hope to achieve. I will discuss this with you from the beginning.

I work with a 48-hour cancellation policy and fees will apply when a missed session cannot be rescheduled.

Training and qualifications

I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, currently in advanced training to become a Certified Transactional Analyst with an MSc in psychotherapy. I offer short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, groups and couples in Kensington, south west London, and online via Zoom.

I have worked with the NHS, within the prison system, and in the charity sector.
