Helen Mayor
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
Hi I'm a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I work in private practice in Central London W1W where I see a number of my clients from the City and locally as well as Hampstead NW3.
Before working in private practice I worked within the NHS offering counselling and in a bereavement service.
There is a real understanding now of the importance of not just taking care of ourselves physically but also looking after our mental wellbeing. Sometimes it may feel easier to just ignore unhappy or uncomfortable feelings but they always seem to re-emerge. Whilst it's not always easy to begin the process of looking at these feelings in therapy it can be transformative.
About me
As an integrative psychotherapist, I am able to draw upon different approaches in my work, so that my approach is bespoke and puts the needs of those I work with really at the fore. These approaches include attachment relationships, psychodynamic, humanistic, relational and interpersonal.
My background in demanding business roles for 20 years prior to training which mean I also understand the demands of long hours and stress that are often juggled alongside the needs of partners and family and how this can take it's toll on wellbeing.
I have experience of dealing with bereavement, relationship difficulties, self esteem, OCD, psychosis, anxiety, perfectionism, family issues and stress.
My own website will give you a little more detail and has testimonials from my clients so you can get a sense of how I work, or feel free to call. I offer a free 15 minute consultation with anyone considering embarking on therapy. www.helenmayortherapy.co.uk

Fees
My fees vary by time of day and location.
My scale is £95-125 for a 50 minute session. I also offer double and 75 minute sessions in certain cases which some clients prefer.
All my first sessions are longer I offer a 75 minute session as it gives us longer to get to know one another.
I offer three low cost sessions per week but have weekly clients for these sessions at the current time that I am committed to.
I also offer walking therapy on Hampstead Heath, Regents Park, St James Park, Hyde Park and also lunchtimes meeting clients at their places of work and walking.
Training and qualifications
I have an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, as a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and the UK Council of Psychotherapists I follow their code of conduct and ethics in my work.
I also have completed training dedicated to the areas of; bereavement, suicide and self harm, eating disorders, anxiety, perfectionism and depression.
Everybody struggles with something at some point in their lives, by working together we can look at the triggers, and start to create greater understanding, awareness and give you some space to breathe and feel differently about yourself.
I am particularly interested and committed to looking at the complete person, not just the emotional and mental wellbeing but how that works physically, in the context of the body, if there is an impact that is held there.
As the field of therapy develops I'm committed to keeping up to date with the changes and developments that could be of benefit to our work.
