Art therapy psychotherapistAbout Me
I am an Art Psychotherapist based in South London.
My Art therapy practice is largely informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, which rests on the idea that who we are and how we experience the world is shaped and changed by conscious and unconscious experiences.
Art therapy can help us recognise, externalise and contextualise our memories and experiences. Art Therapy can help us let go of unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, develop new perspectives and work towards creating more fulfilling relationships with others and with ourselves.
In sessions, i endeavour to connect with the person and the artwork with curiosity, care, respect and compassion. I aim to facilitate a non judgmental, supportive environment for the creative process to take place. In this way, we can explore and process experiences, memories and relationships with or without words, we can experiment with seeing and doing things differently.
Art therapy sessions can be a place to play and experiment with materials and narratives…to create, deconstruct and build…to talk, to think and to be silent.
I have a holistic, integrative, relational, person centred approach to therapeutic work.
