About Me

COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the current health situation, the majority of sessions have been moved to online or telephone. However I am still able to offer a few face-to-face sessions. Please contact me for more details.

Thank you for visiting my profile page and considering me as your therapist or supervisor.

Throughout life we can all face many challenges and it often helps to talk to someone about our thoughts, feelings and experiences. At these times it may not feel comfortable or appropriate to talk to our friends or loved ones, or perhaps you feel that you don't have anyone around you that you could go to for help and support. Therapy offers you a supportive, safe and confidential space where you can explore and work through problems, thoughts, feelings and choices without being judged.

I am able to work with a broad range of causes of concern such as addiction, anxiety, bereavement, childhood issues/trauma, depression, divorce, loss, relationships, self-esteem and stress. However, I specialize in women's mental health, particularly pre- and post-natal depression.

I also offer clinical supervision for fully qualified and trainee counsellors, and educational support for counselling students (all levels). Please contact me for further details.

My Approach

As a highly experienced, fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to offer you the empathy and understanding you need to achieve your goals and reach your full potential. I have professional training in Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural and Life Coaching approaches but favour an integrative approach. I am able to offer short and long term therapy, tailored to suit your needs and can work with all age groups.

Most therapeutic sessions happen face-to-face but for some people this may difficult. In this situation I am able to provide online, email, instant messaging or telephone counselling sessions. If you would like to more about this type of therapy, please contact me for more information.

I am a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere strictly to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professionals. I understand the courage it takes to contact a counsellor so I continuously strive to provide the best therapeutic experience to my clients.

Professional Experience

Since qualifying I have worked in private practice and a variety of organisations specializing in addiction, domestic violence, school counselling and mental health. I am also a fully qualified teacher (QTLS) and trainer working in Adult Education where I deliver and manage a range of courses including counselling (levels 1 - 5), mental health awareness, substance misuse awareness, understanding suicide, mindfulness, understanding self-harm and many more. I am also the Clinical Supervisor for the Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a designated safeguarding lead.
