About Me

Hello, I'm Emma and I'm a UKCP qualified, professional person-centred psychotherapist. I provide talking therapy – online or over the phone – for those who are having difficulties with their lives, struggling to cope, or are seeking to make positive changes.

Sometimes life circumstances can be very challenging, and you may find yourself stuck, or thinking or behaving in ways that are unhelpful. You may not understand why this is so.  It could be that behaviours that helped you to cope in the past no longer serve you, but you can’t find a way to break out of them.   Or perhaps you simply feel out of kilter and don’t know why.

I work with adult individuals within a safe and confidential space for self-exploration and growth. I offer a warm, accepting and authentic way of being with my clients and work alongside them collaboratively, as an equal.  My expertise is not based on explaining you to you.  I believe that no one knows better about what it’s like to be you than yourself. Instead, I’d work with you as an individual, without assumptions or preconceptions about how you might be experiencing your difficulties.

If you decide to work with me, you can expect me to respect your experience, without trying to impose my own interpretation, analysis or judgement of the situation.  You can trust me to be honest with you – if what you’re saying seems to be different to how I experience you, I may raise that for you to consider. Together, we work to fully understand your situation and to work through the challenges you are facing.

Each person’s circumstances are different and their issues are very personal to them.  I’m happy to discuss whether I can be of help to you.  You may like to visit my website for further information: www.emmastherapyspace.com
