Emily Scholl
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I work with adults of all ages who feel they have experienced a loss. This loss may have negatively affected your ability to manage your life and impacted on other relationships. You may feel lonely, powerless or just stuck. My work includes not only those who are grieving a loved one, a close friend or family member but also those who may have experienced a living loss such as a relationship breakdown, loss of employment, loss of home, loss of contact with children or loss of opportunity.
Whatever your experience I offer a confidential, non-judgmental space, to explore, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, what has brought you to where you are now in your life.
I believe that everyone grieves in a different way, as is unique to them. I offer you a space to enable you to explore your grief, supporting you through this process, to facilitate your healing.
I am an integrative trained therapist. What this means is that I will adopt different theoretical approaches which are appropriate to you and your situation. I work in a way which is tailored to your individual needs so that it is always you who is at the centre of our work together.
Together we can explore how your past experiences may have shaped your behaviour, thought process and choices. Increasing our self-awareness and understanding our patterns of behaviour can create an opportunity to rebuild, empower and give positive new meaning to our lives.
Before becoming a Counsellor, I practised as a family law Barrister. This gave me valuable insight into the escalating stress that can be created when a person is trapped in conflict, the loss when a relationship breaks down and the tensions often seen around contact arrangements with children.
I currently work with clients who have experienced bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, low self esteem, anxiety and depression.
I offer in-person and online counselling. In-person counselling takes place in easily accessible therapy rooms in Rickmansworth and online sessions are on Zoom.
Please do get in touch if you have any queries or questions. Possibly this is your first experience of counselling and that might feel daunting. I am happy to chat in a non-judgmental, honest, and open manner.
