Dr David Kaposi
Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
Welcome to my site. I am an established psychotherapist, counsellor and psychologist, committed to closely follow wherever my clients' stories, feelings, memories take us. To help you achieve enduring change, I offer a research-based approach that is also grounded in over five years of clinical experience.
I find that to understand what my clients’ feelings and experiences are, often we together need to look behind the surface. These feelings have usually been present for a long time and they are expressed or suffered in many different ways. Yet, it is often difficult to put them into exact words. This may be why you too are looking for a therapist: to help talking about what you have, in a way, always known but have never quite been able to say.
Alongside my training as therapist, I also hold a PhD in psychology. Working as a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the Open University, I am a member of the School of Psychology’s Psychotherapy and Counselling Research Group.
Following an initial consultation meeting, I offer once- or twice-weekly 50-minute sessions. Therapy then is open ended: whether in the shorter or the longer term, it will conclude whenever you feel ready.
