About Me

Life can be unpredictable and challenging at times, often leaving us with feelings which can be experienced as overwhelming, unmanageable and anxiety provoking.

During the counselling process, I can provide you with a safe space to process some of these challenges, and work alongside you to understand them in more detail.

My therapeutic style means that I assist my clients to explore their experiences, process them safely, and form their own understanding of how some of the significant parts of their lives have impacted them. Together, we can then uncover ways to manage these difficulties, and move forward in a way which feels suited to their needs.

Counselling can feel difficult to begin with, so I move at my client's pace and believe it is important that the therapeutic relationship is established to ensure clients feel safe to explore sensitive issues.

Finding the right therapist can be tough, so I offer a free telephone consultation before you book in to give us an opportunity to discuss your needs, and work out if working with me feels like a good fit!

How does counselling with me work?

  • - Sessions take place weekly, either in person or online (video conferencing).
  • - Sessions last for 50 minutes.
  • - You will not be expected to talk about things you don't feel safe talking about.
  • - We will review the work throughout our time together - this is to make sure you are comfortable with the way things are going.
  • - There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions you can have.

Therapeutic background

I have worked therapeutically with individuals and families in my work over the past 6 years. Supporting individuals to achieve goals they have set themselves to improve their overall well-being and work towards maintaining changes independently.

I have experience working one to one with clients in counselling settings in London and Kent, and have supported clients who have sought support for a variety of challenges; Depression or feeling sad, low mood, anxiety, abuse, low self-esteem or worth, family difficulties, lack of confidence, social anxiety, understanding their identity, bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, sexuality, feeling stuck and wanting to develop personally by understanding themselves better.

I am a registered counsellor specialising in Integrative therapy. I use person centred and psychodynamic approaches to provide a safe space for my clients to explore areas of difficulty, and support them to process the challenges life may bring. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and have a degree in Psychology.

Work with young people

I began working professionally with young people and their families in 2010. Over the years, I have worked across boroughs in London and Kent within Children's Social Care, Youth Offending, Custodial Care, Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Therapeutic Services.

Diversity

I believe difference and diversity is a fundamental area to consider when working therapeutically with clients. My experience working in diverse communities has supported my understanding of differences in gender, race, age, culture, economic background, religion and sexuality. I have extensive experience supporting clients who identify as BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic).
