Psychoanalytic therapistAbout Me
Personal therapy is about your growth and development as a person – where you are in your life, how you are relating to others, what you are like at tuning into yourself. Although therapy costs money, it is a brilliant form of investment and I’d encourage you to make this form of investment in yourself. With reflection, we learn to value our experiencing more. We get more out of living for having a trusted space for reflecting on it.
It is now 26 years where I have been working as a therapist. I see therapy as a regenerative activity in keeping with certain kinds of gardening. On my allotment, I take particular delight in seeing what plants self-seed. This emergent quality is to let go of the controls and to co-design with nature. In personal therapy, there can be a similar letting go of the controls and allowing for new possibilities to emerge as part of the therapy process.
I have found that the most painful events in our lives can be the ones that become the most formative. Perhaps, there is a crucial choice that we all face, whether to struggle along on our own or to reach out to another and ask for support. It is the reaching out that makes all the difference. I endeavour always to make the space respectful and affirmative, where I do my very best to tune in and to understand you. I do not seek to place expectations – rather that through feeling understood and supported, we create the conditions together for change to happen.
