Chelsee Dickinson
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Hello, my name is Chelsee, and I would like to start by thanking you for looking at my profile. Over the years I have experienced many difficulties and challenges of my own including issues within relationships, work related struggles, health, stress, anxiety and depression.
Having experienced my own problems and life events, this has led me to becoming a therapist. This has also enhanced my awareness and understanding that life is not always simple. And we never know what is around the corner and how this will impact us. Having this perception has contributed towards me being able to empathise with others who maybe experiencing problems of their own.
As an individual I am a warm, friendly and compassionate person, who despite having experienced struggles myself tries to look upon the positives and on the brighter side of things and can identify solutions at times that may not be so easy.
Sometimes life can feel like an uphill struggle, the smallest things can impact us in a way that previously may not have done.
Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious or depressed?
Are you struggling to sleep or worrying?
Are you having problems in your relationship, marriage or family?
Are you experiencing difficulties at work?
Do your negative or traumatic past events effect your emotions, behaviours or decision making?
You may want help to achieve your goals, not know how you feel, you may have something specific such as divorce, death, abuse or intense feelings of anger and guilt, shame or low self-esteem and want to work towards emotional mastery and resilience. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. We should not ignore signs of anxiety, stress, depression or other mental health conditions that maybe impacting our daily living and wellbeing. Life can be challenging at times and whatever difficulties you are facing, talking to someone impartial can help.
Finding the right therapist is often a difficult task, there are many experienced professionals to choose from with each having their own specialties and their unique ways of working, I believe a great place to start is by finding someone who you can connect with and trust with your fears, worries thoughts and feelings, who can offer you the space to explore your difficulties in a safe, confidential and nonjudgmental environment
As an experienced therapist I have assisted a diverse range of individuals off all ages, cultures, ethnicities and disabilities and believe everyone should be treated equally and fairly, I can understand how therapy many need to be adapted to suit the individual. e.g., working with the therapy adapting to suit, working with children or those with a learning disability. Or the relevant specification to suit you as an individual.
I have experience of working within an agency setting and private practice assisting clients with a variety of issues, including relationship or family difficulties, work related issues, bereavement, abuse, addiction, self-harm, eating disorders, anger, chronic illness, attachment disorders, anxiety, stress and depression. In many cases an individual may present with one issue that may unravel many more, or there maybe more than one difficulty being experienced at one time.
Whatever the situation the individuals involved have found exploring the matter with myself beneficial as working together we can explore and discuss any emotions that are being experienced.
