About Me

PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE ONLINE SESSIONS AVAILABLE (SKYPE OR PHONE) DURING THE COVID-19 PERIOD.

I specialise in anxiety and depression. I welcome all adult clients (18+) for short or long term work and have experience of a wide range of issues. I have particular experience working with young adults 18-30 and in perinatal work.

My work as a University counsellor encompasses many issues affecting young people today, including body and/or gender dysphoria, perfectionism and procrastination, transitioning, social anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders and performance anxiety (work, social or sexually associated).

I also worked as a perinatal Women's Health Counsellor in two NHS Hospitals for several years, and am particularly interested in ante- and post-natal depression, alongside all issues associated with pregnancy and birth, including miscarriage, termination and foetal abnormality. I work with the individual parent, or the couple (please note that this couple work is focussed on how you are managing the pregnancy/birth/parenting as a couple, rather than your long term relationship, which would require a couples' therapist).

I worked at a GP practice, counselling patients with a diverse range of feelings and problems.

Issues that arise in my work are many and complex, but through my experience of listening to clients with a diverse range of psychological and emotional difficulties, I believe that talking things through with a trained professional really can help you to begin to find new ways to cope. My work is based on psychodynamic principles. In short, this means that while I focus on how you feel today, I also take into account your past relationships and experiences, including your childhood, and how these may unconsciously be influencing your present feelings and behaviour.

You are welcome to come and see me in my private practice. I work from my consulting room in Muswell Hill in Haringey N10. My practice offers a warm, safe and confidential setting, where you are free to speak in confidence without fear of being judged or criticised.

I also offer counselling and psychotherapy sessions to counsellors in training.

If you would like to discuss an appointment, or ask any further questions, please phone or email me. I will respond swiftly.
