About Me

Who I am

My name is Cecilia and I am an integrative counsellor (PGdip, MBACP) with a friendly and gentle manner. I can help you with many issues such as anxiety, depression and bereavement. I draw upon a wide range of therapeutic tools as an integrative counsellor, which will help you with issues you want to work through in a way that is truly geared to your very personal needs. I build strong relationships with my clients, so they feel at ease to discuss difficult issues that they may initally find hard to share.

Why counselling?

There are many different reasons why people decide to seek counselling. The modern world presents us all with a myriad of challenges that can be hard to face. We may feel lonely and isolated, we may need help with processing past trauma and loss, we may struggle with depression and anxiety or addiction or we may just need support to cope with demands of our busy lives. I believe that everyone has stages or times in their life when they need help.

Supporting you safely and ethically

I approach clients in a friendly, warm manner. As a BACP member, I respect and follow therapeutic ethics, based on the BACP ethical framework, which includes important qualities such as being truthful, integral and fair. I feel it's very important to support every individual uniquely and feel that each person has the right to be free to express their issues without judgment. I adhere to important ethical issues which include privacy, confidentiality and clear ethical boundaries.

A warm, flexible place to meet

Currently therapy is offered online via Zoom in a safe setting where you can feel free to talk. Therapy sessions offer an environment where you can express your feelings and gain deeper insight into your difficulties. These sessions are confidential, so you can talk about things you might not feel comfortable discussing with anyone else. The aim is to help you find better ways to cope, or to bring about positive changes to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing.

I have been working with Cruse Bereavement as a volunteer for the past 7 years, helping adults and children, which I find incredibly rewarding. I also have counselling experience with young people by volunteering in YMCA. I am an experienced, sensitive and insightful psychotherapist and I work integratively, which means I draw on different approaches to therapy to meet the needs of each individual. My practice is mainly informed by the person-centred and psychodynamic approaches.
