Carolyn Barrows
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist, having trained in a number of areas which I integrate into my work. As well as my initial training, I have taken several short courses over the last 5 years with Professor Paul Gilbert in Compassion Focused Therapy, and continue to update my skills in this annually. In addition, I attend other training courses and keep up to date with the latest research in psychotherapy.
As well as my private practice, I worked as an Integrative Counsellor within the NHS, seeing patients with a wide variety of issues. I also worked with a charity for several years, specialising in pregnancy related issues such as miscarriage, still-birth and post natal depression
I practice Mindfulness daily, after completing an 8 week Mindfulness training course 6 years ago.
I am an associate of several employee assistance programmes, and am a BUPA registered practitioner.
In a former life I worked for an international magazine publishing house.
