EMDR practitionerAbout Me
Have you ever felt lost or alone, or not known where to start with a situation? Or maybe there are patterns of sadness in your life that you have never felt able to understand or work through. Sometimes being heard in a compassionate and safe environment can help make sense of things.
I am a therapist and specialise in both addictions and trauma (EMDR Practitioner), and more recently complete a PG certificate in clinical sexology, as well as certification in the Assessment and treatment of adults with ADHD.
I started my career as a mental health nurse in 2003, which with my therapy training has allowed me to practice with a holistic approach. I have a wide experience of different mental health problems, and not only how they affect the individual, but also the lives of family and friends close by. I love listening people and understanding every person I meets own individuality and story. I live to look at the bigger picture to gain clarity and understand need. I like to work from a position of empathy and understanding, and help to create hope by working with achievable goals and employing your own unique strengths and value system. My aim is to meet you in the place you are in and develop a collaborative way of working.
As an individual I celebrate culture and diversity and have travelled for both work and pleasure to develop my understanding and compassion for people with differing experiences.
