Ayo Adesioye
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I provide therapy to young people and adults in a space that is warm and collaborative. I work with a range of issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, family dynamics and relationship difficulties, and have a particular interest in men’s mental health. My practice is fully inclusive, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent-affirming. Being a person of colour myself, I understand the importance of cultural competence, of having someone understand your unique cultural background, and can ensure this is what you will be met with at all times.
As a domestic abuse (DA) specialist also, I work with both victims and perpetrators and bring a nuanced, yet practical understanding of DA be it verbal, physical, emotional, coercive control, sexual or financial.
Owing to foundational training in family therapy and global mental health, I’m sensitive to the role culture and society play, in addition to relationships, when it comes to mental health and seek as much as possible to consider these broader systemic factors.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in journalism and TV production. I bring a gentle curiosity to sessions which encourages clients to tell their story - something I see as being central to the therapeutic process.
