Anita Mcilvaney
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
I have been working in the NHS alongside people who have been referred for counselling support by the GP for fifteen years. I am DBS checked and a Senior Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist. Many clients feedback has expressed their appreciation of a genuine, non judgemental, safe relationship, to explore their feelings about what is impacting on their ability to enjoy life with a sense of purposeful direction. At the heart of who I am is to create a relationship enabling you to make conscious choices about changes you want to make to live a more rewarding life. I have extensive experience of working with a broad spectrum of presenting concerns, my special areas of interest and expertise are, relationship difficulties, your relationship with yourself and others, loss and bereavement, low self esteem and a lack of confidence.
I am a licensed Counselling for Depression Therapist, in the The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme, an NHS initiative to provide evidence-based psychological therapy. I have completed a piece of research on the possibility for growth following a traumatic event.
