Alison Drugan
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Hello, my name is Alison and I am a qualified and BACP registered counsellor, experienced in seeing child, teen and adult clients. My approach is integrative, which means I am trained in several theories so that I can tailor my work with you specifically to your needs. My work with children is generally play-based and creative but I will happily bring this into sessions with teens and adults.
Taking that first step to see a counsellor can be daunting:
- what will the counsellor be like?
- what will they think of me?
- what if I don't know what to say?
Compounding this, you may not feel 100% clear on what the issue actually is, just that something doesn't feel right. Please be assured that not everyone comes to counselling with a clear idea of what is 'wrong' and what they want to do to help themselves, that's what part of our work will be about.
My work is non-judgemental and during our first session, we will look at what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to achieve. My counselling room is a confidential space for you to be who you really are and if you're not sure what that looks like, that is something we can look at too!
