Alice Bradford
Person-centred/humanistic psychotherapistAbout Me
Feeling overwhelmed and lost can be a hugely isolating experience, often leaving people feeling hopeless that they will ever feel differently. The start of change can be talking to someone who makes you feel safe, heard and acknowledges your situation, allowing for thoughts and feelings to be explored in a non-judgemental, open and honest way.
These are just some of the ideas that underpin the person-centred approach, with research showing that creating a trusting relationship is key to effective therapy. I believe in your innate wisdom – I do not offer advice but, rather help you to re-connect to your inner-self and discover what you really want and need, and how best for you to get there. As unique individuals there is no set formula or way of working, we will work it out together. Being in therapy can be hard work, asking you to go to difficult places and often to aspects of your childhood. I am committed to working alongside you to help you find whatever it is you are seeking in life, and in a way that fits with you.
I am a fully qualified, registered therapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have trained in the person-centred approach and have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, and confidence. I have gained extensive experience working within domestic abuse and supporting young people.
Currently I offer online or phone sessions, but from 4th November will be able to offer in person therapy in central Leamington Spa.
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, part of which includes regular supervision to ensure I am working safely and with competence.
The initial session is 30 minutes and is offered at £15 as it is important to establish whether we both feel confident to work with one another and for me to make a professional assessment of whether I am the therapist to best help you.
I hope to meet with you soon and wish you the very best.
