Zoe Boston
Art therapy psychotherapistAbout Me
I am Zoe, a self- employed qualified Art Psychotherapist, Psychotherapist, creative artist, performance artist and sculptor.
I have trained, worked and practiced in various settings including all levels of education from primary to secondary mainstream, specialist, higher education, NHS mental health community settings and also within the voluntary sector. I have worked within these areas for over 10 years and have also taken my work globally, delivering Art Psychotherapy in parts of Asia.
I am an outgoing, enthusiastic, confident, positive and responsible person who thrives on meeting new and interesting people. I enjoy working in a busy and hard-working environment; I have the ability and skills to work independently and within a group or team. I am a resilient person, who is warm and comforting but also loves and thrives from a challenge. I am a firm believer that Art therapy can transform lives.
As an art therapist I have a duty of care to provide a secure safe space for you to feel able to express yourself verbally and non-verbally. Art is a powerful tool and when spoken words are too painful to say, art can become your voice. As a result, this enables you to develop self-confidence, build self-esteem and begin to learn how to self-regulate independently, whilst also becoming more self-aware. I am passionate about the process of making art, it does not matter whether you are good at art or not, it is the process of making art that heals, not the end result.

Training and qualifications
Over the past 15 years I have studied, explored and refined my art psychotherapy practice to ensure that my clients feel safe, secure and able to express themselves freely without fear or judgement. I believe that this can act as a springboard for clients to begin to understand their emotions, which in turn enables them to develop self-confidence, build self-esteem and begin to learn how to self-regulate whilst becoming more self-aware.
I can’t begin to tell you how important I believe this to be. My commitment to providing people with a therapeutic relationship means that I have obtained many qualifications over the last decade:
• Master (MA) of Art Psychotherapy.
• Qualified Art Psychotherapist Practitioner.
• Level 3 Safeguarding training.
• BAAT Qualified Clinical Supervisor.
• BAAT – British Association of Art Therapists Member.
• HCPC - Health and Care Professions Council Accredited - Reg. No AS15814.
• Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Fine Art.
• Postgraduate Foundation Diploma in Art Therapy.
• Postgraduate Foundation Diploma in Fine Art.
• I am fully DBS approved and on the DBS update service also.
As you can see, I am dedicated to my profession. To see the journey that my clients embark on and to be able to be there to facilitate their life transitions gives me continuous faith in the art therapy process and the lasting effect it can have on a person’s life. This is why I am committed to delivering consistent therapy to each and every one of my clients.
