Dr Tracey Harding
Cognitive behaviour practitionerAbout Me
My name is Tracey and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Practitioner and a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have extensive experience working with clients within the NHS and within my private practice.
I work with people experiencing a range of difficulties associated with, for example, anxiety (general, health and social), depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and low self-esteem.
I place importance on establishing a warm and therapeutic relationship that would enable us to collaboratively explore and change unhelpful thinking and behavioural processes. I have a clinical doctorate and my research explored the experiences of adults who, as children, grew up in a home where there was problem drinking by a parent/s. As a registered nurse much of my clinical nursing experience has been caring for people within an acute gastrointestinal and liver speciality where many of my patients were misusing alcohol or drugs.
I am a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and I abide by their standards of conduct, performance, and ethics. I hold a valid enhanced DBS.
In addition to my private CBT practice, I have a role working within the NHS, in various mental health settings where people have accessed CBT either through GP or self-referral. I enjoy the breadth of experience gained here and find the roles complimentary within the NHS and private practice. I also work as a lecturer in a university setting, where I teach pre-registration student nurses (trainees), post registration masters and doctoral students.
