Sophie Archer
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I am a qualified MBACP registered Integrative Counsellor, with 10 years experience working in mental health.
I have worked with a wide range of clients including children, teens and adults that present with a variety of issues and concerns from all different backgrounds.
I specialise in treating; relationship issues, anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, depression, grief and loss, trauma and emotional regulation issues.
My therapy approach is set in a person-centered foundation, I believe building a therapeutic relationship by establishing trust and rapport is paramount. I am eclectic in the theories I use and depending on your needs I may use different theoretical approaches, such as - solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Exposure response therapy (ERP), attachment theory, transactional analysis, mindfulness and psychodynamic. Whichever approach we use we will focus on your abilities and skills to help you achieve your individualised goals.
When working with clients I strive to make the therapy experience genuine, positive and respectful. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in doing great things and overcoming challenges. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
So whether you are seeking change for a healthier happier life, or just need a non judgmental ear to listen, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you!
