EMDR therapistAbout Me
EMDR can offer a brief, focused treatment where you remain in control of your self-healing process and can empower you to make life changes. NICE and WHO recognize EMDR for the treatment of PTSD, but it also helps with various MH conditions. If you are a young person, adult, or elder that have experienced a traumatic event, dealing with sleep difficulties, anxiety, emotional/self-confidence issues, intrusive memories/thoughts, or suffering from a phobia you are ready to face. If you have wanted to act on this but have not found the time or the therapy that suited you. NOW might be the time, EMDR the approach, and I am here to guide you.
EMDR uses your body's natural healing ability. After a thorough history taking and an assessment, you will target a memory while following sets of eye movements. You will report on the thoughts, images, and feelings you noticed during each of the eye movement sets. With repeated sets of eye movements, the memory tends to change and lose its painful intensity to become a neutral memory of an event in the past.
