About Me

My name is Sian Meredydd Wright. I have mostly lived in the Conwy County area (U.K.) since I was 4 years old. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Music at The University of Wales Bangor. After graduation, I decided to become an English teacher in Asia; during that time my mother died from complications of multiple sclerosis. I decided to pursue a career in mental health counselling and help others with traumatic loss and grief. Shortly after I had begun studying for my Master's degree in Clinical Counselling, I was also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I decided I wanted to continue to help others with their mental health concerns.

Here in the UK, one in four people suffers from depression or anxiety. I believe that so many people need help without feeling stigmatized and judged. As an accredited member of the ACCPH (Accredited councillors, coaches psychotherapists & and hypnotherapists) I use these skills to help clients remember previously forgotten strengths.

When I began studying clinical counselling I was fascinated with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) And decided to complete a level three CBT certification to learn how to utilise CBT in my future career. I was able to relate to the teamwork between the therapist and the client. I believe it is essential for clients to feel that sense of accomplishment. Through this therapeutic alliance, psychotherapy can help provide solutions to day-to-day problems and long-term therapeutic gains.

SMWCCT is the result of my education and experiences in life and the love of reaching out with my abilities. I look forward to meeting you and discussing what I can do to restore and revive your outlook on life. I use the science-based CBT Approach to counselling due to the accessibility of this approach.
