Dr Selen Atasoy
Gestalt counsellorAbout Me
I believe that difficult experiences have the power to transform us if we can allow the feelings they bring up. Yet, we all may need support in this process. In my counselling practice, I aim to support my clients in their individual journey to their own unique authentic self.
I work with long and short term clients face to face at the Little Health Hub and online. I offer a free 30 minutes initial session for new clients for us to meet and discuss in which ways we can work together.

Training and qualifications
I obtained a Ph.D. in medical imaging jointly at the Technical Universtiy of Munich and Imperial College London. After my Ph.D. I held postdoctoral research positions at the School of Psychology, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, and at the Center for Brain and Cognition, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, at the Hedonia Transnational Research Group, University of Oxford, and at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London, working on neural correlates of different states of consciousness. Currently, I explore neural correlates of meditation at the Centre for Eudaimonia and Human Flourishing, University of Oxford.
Alongside my scientific research, I trained as a psychotherapeutic counsellor at the Gestalt Centre London and in Jungian dream analysis at British Psychotherapy Foundationand the Society of Analytical Psychology. My counselling approach combines Gestalt therapy, Jungian dream analysis and body-oriented mindfulness-based energy psychotherapy within a client-centred and relational therapeutic framework. As a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) my practice follows ethical BACP guidelines.
