About Me

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience in many varied settings including the NHS, for 12 years, charities and various London universities. I currently work part-time as a student counsellor and supervisor at a London University, alongside private practice. I have also taught on many psychotherapy training courses over the past 10 years.

I offer a safe, kind, curious and compassionate space and have worked with many different issues including childhood trauma, family issues and estrangement, anxiety, depression, illness and bereavement , perfectionism, marriage and relationship difficulties (please note I do not offer couples therapy, only individual), academic and work pressures.

It can be hugely helpful to have a confidential, safe space to be heard and understood without judgement.  We can often repeat negative patterns of thinking and relating; psychotherapy also has the potential to bring about a greater awareness of these patterns, which in turn can bring new possibilities. Our work together would be based on respect and collaboration. The relationship we develop will also form part of the work, particularly if this is longer -term, and can be a helpful additional avenue into exploring attachment styles and ways of relating to others.

To begin with we would meet for a 1 hour no-obligation initial consultation where we can explore the issues that have brought you to therapy; we can also think about whether this will be the best kind of support for you. This can be in person in my consulting room in Richmond, or via Zoom.

I also have experience of facilitating friendship groups who may be having difficulties and/or be wanting to develop existing relationships in a safe space. This can be offered on zoom.
