Regina Tapping
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
My name is Regina and I am a person centred counsellor and therapist, working with adults and adolescents. My aim is to focus on positive self judgement, I may combine this with psychodynamic therapy, which allows the individual to further explore issues that may stem from childhood that affects current repeated negative behaviour. I provide a safe and non judgemental space for you to feel free to talk about whatever you have been struggling with and to help guide you through difficulties that may arise. This in turn will allow you to explore elements of suffering from different angles, thus allow you to make sense of things and understand yourself better. More importantly my primary aim is to establish a working relationship of mutual respect and trust which cements a good foundation that ensures that our collaboration is effective.
The majority of my working life has been supporting vulnerable adults. As a front line worker and later manager I supported ex-offenders, most of whom had underlining issues such as mental health, childhood trauma including physical, sexual, financial abuse and homelessness which would often lead the individual to engage in repeated patterns of offending. As a counsellor and therapist I have worked with clients struggling with drug addiction, low self esteem, depression, trauma, bereavement, isolation, financial, sexual and physical abuse, stress and anxiety. I have also worked at MIND in Haringey and Age Concern UK in Redbridge. I provide both short term counselling and open ended therapy according to client need.
I am currently employed by Clear Links student support working with students who are in the main who are neurodiverse. I also work in private practice.
