About Me

I aim to help you find a way forward, whatever it is that is going on for you. You really don't have to struggle on feeling that there is no one to help you.

If you are feeling low, depressed or anxious, or struggling with relationships or loss, I am here to help you.

I can offer you either online, telephone, face to face (in a safe counselling room), or walking talking therapy ( where we meet outdoors at an agreed location, and walk as we talk).

Our world has changed, and is continuing to change, and this can be a very unsettling time. Our contact with others and our ways of working have also changed and making these adjustments is difficult to make sense of. I know that I have had to rethink lots of things as I expect you have too.

If you have been affected by trying to cope with this ever shifting world and feel that it would help to talk about this, I am here to listen and help you. I work with people who are anxious or depressed, or having difficulties with their relationships, or just struggling with coping generally.

As you have probably become aware, we are developing new channels for communication in order to stay safe. Face to face sessions have been temporarily replaced by Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Team, FaceTime and telephone sessions, which thankfully, work really well. I am also very happy to meet outdoors, walking and talking, weather permitting, if you are happy to do so.

So, please, don't struggle on thinking that there is no help for you. I am here, and waiting for you. I have had a lot of experience with online counselling now and am very comfortable to introduce you to this way of working. It works.

I offer counselling in sessions tailored to suit your needs. Whatever your path through life, whether you are living with emotional wounding that goes way back,  or dealing with more recent difficulties,  my aim is to help you deepen your insight and expand your vision to find a more beneficial and meaningful way of living.

My counselling practice goes back twenty years and is the result of both personal and professional discoveries,  which have led me to ways of working with people that can be effective with all ages and concerns,  however diverse.

I  worked in the NHS as a Senior Counsellor for almost fifteen years, as well as in the voluntary sector and private practice.

I am fundamentally an existential counsellor but draw on a range of different resources to bring therapeutic help to personal,  professional, emotional, cognitive, behavioural, creative, existential and spiritual concerns. During our sessions I will listen to see where your main concerns appear to be, and work with you to find ways to help you to move towards changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.  We will work together in ways that are comfortable for you yet challenging enough for change to occur. So,we might explore what your key values are, and whether these are being compromised in any way, either externally or through your internal process. We can do this in many different ways according to your needs, so sometimes I bring stones and shells into the session to help us to build a visual picture of your life and this can lead to wonderful creative conversations and links as to how you became the person that you are today and the things along the way that have contributed to your formation. Lots of my clients appreciate the way that I work as it really helps them to express their internal world in a non judgemental and safe way, which can then enable a really meaningful exploration for change.

I am aware that talking therapies can be difficult at times and although we might need help, it can be hard to put things into words, which is why I have also developed my sound healing practice through gong and sound meditation. So, no talking, just deep relaxation to relieve stress, tension and anxiety in both mind and body.

Whether your concerns are psychological symptoms or something else that's hard to define,  I'm happy to talk with you about your needs.

I also offer supervision to other counsellors.
