I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, fully registered with the HCPC and Chartered with the British Psychological Society. My approach to therapy is psychodynamic, focusing on understanding a person’s individual experience of the world and the problems they’ve come to live with. This involves us working together to try to understand the particular meaning of one’s difficulties and troubling feelings and how and why such distressing experiences have occurred at this point in life. Such understandings often help people feel less troubled and ‘stuck’, for example with depression, anxiety or traumatic experiences, clearing the way for the changes that have been longed-for but remained elusive.
I have offered talking therapies to people from a wide variety of backgrounds in Clinical Psychology Departments over the last 9 years and have specialised in Adult Mental Health. I continue to work with adults in a Community Mental Health Team within the NHS and am a registered member of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN).
I firmly believe that therapeutic change is only possible within a non-judgemental and supportive environment. I offer a free 20-minute phone/video call to answer any questions and discuss the possibility of working together.
