Dr Michelle Griffiths
Cognitive behaviour practitioner psychologistAbout Me
I am a fully registered and insured Practitioner Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist, specialising in a variety of mental and physical health difficulties. I have over 15 years' experience of supporting people to develop strategies to live with mental health issues (anxiety and depression, stress, worry or panic, health-related anxiety and depression) and long-term conditions (e.g. thyroid disorders, pain, fatigue, COPD, PMDD and cancer). I also help people to make positive and meaningful changes in their everyday lives despite difficulties and challenges they face.
My practice draws upon a range of models and approaches to support people to identify personal values and goals, build emotional resilience, manage stressful events, develop life skills (e.g. effective communication) and to empower people with long-term physical health conditions with the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage their health.
I also provide specialist support in relation to physical health issues such as stopping smoking, improving sleep, alcohol consumption, weight management, movement/physical exercise, lifestyle choices and habit change using: Health Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Health Coaching, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Motivational Interviewing. I offer a face-to-face service in Westbury on Trym in Bristol, with additional appointments available in Cotham and Clifton village on request, as well as online and telephone outpatient appointments.
