Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a BACP registered Psychotherapist. I work with both short-term and long-term counselling and therapy, using an integrative therapeutic approach, tailored to suit my client’s individual needs.
The foundation of my therapeutic approach is rooted in Humanistic Therapy. I offer empathy, non-judgement and unconditional positive regard in a safe supportive space, to support you in exploring and working through your issues.
Following the completion of a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, I also work with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where this may be suitable. This can be a more directive approach in making changes to unhelpful thoughts, feelings or behaviours you may be experiencing.
Additionally, I am currently undertaking further training in the third wave CBT approaches, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I provide an initial free 20 minute telephone or online consultation, where we will discuss what you wish to gain from your therapy sessions and how we may work together to achieve this. This will also give us the opportunity to establish if we would work well together, before you commit to therapy. There is strong evidence that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is the main attribute towards a positive outcome in counselling and therapy.
My counselling and therapy sessions offer time in a safe space dedicated to you, to explore your experiences without judgement. I believe that you are the expert of your experience, but with my training and knowledge we can work together to alleviate your distress, nourish your self-compassion and work towards a more content you.
