BUPA Recognized Therapist
About Me I am a dedicated, client-centered therapist and supervisor with over 20 years of experience in statutory services, the NHS (CAMHS), and local authorities. My expertise lies in working with young people, adolescents, and their families, though I welcome clients from all walks of life. My practice is grounded in person-centered therapy, enriched by my knowledge of psychodynamic and existential modalities.
Therapeutic Approach I focus on building strong, therapeutic relationships rooted in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence. My aim is to help clients navigate low-level mental health challenges, such as anxiety, stress, self-harm, and suicidality. I am committed to empowering my clients to explore their situations, values, and relationships, guiding them toward meaningful change and personal growth.
Specializations
- Mental Health Support: Expertise in addressing issues like anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship challenges.
- Youth and Family Therapy: Extensive experience in helping young people and parents manage complex emotional and mental health issues.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection: Deep understanding of safeguarding practices, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every client.
Clinical Supervision With a Diploma in Integrative Clinical Supervision, I bring a wealth of experience in supervising trainee counselors and those in the early stages of their careers. I offer supervision that is informed by various therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic and existential approaches, with a primary focus on client-centered therapy.
My Services
- Online Therapy: Accessible from anywhere, providing a safe and private space for clients to connect.
- Client-Centered Supervision: Support for counselors looking to deepen their practice and navigate professional challenges.
Experience I have successfully guided clients through a range of challenges, helping them achieve their potential and find greater comfort within themselves. My background includes supervising trainee counselors in various settings and facilitating counseling courses at the FE College. I am now focusing on my online practice, where I can dedicate more time and energy to a smaller caseload, ensuring the highest quality of care.
