About Me

Hello and thank you for reading my profile.

Why CBT?

One of the most beneficial things about CBT is that it is solution focussed so together we will work towards a desired goal. In addition CBT provides you with tools and strategies to help you, the client, to be your own therapist and these tools can last a life time. I will empower you to achieve your goal through self exploration, picking apart your experiences and how they have influenced your life today.

By doing this you can process difficult memories and manage unhelpful behaviours, creating a greater self confidence.

A bit about me

I am a qualified psychotherapist with a post graduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

I have been supporting people with various levels of anxiety and depression for 10 years. Common conditions I support are depression/low mood and motivation, social anxiety/shyness, sexual abuse, rape, PTSD, trauma, panic attacks, OCD, vomit and other phobias, loss/bereavement, relationship problems, domestic abuse, abortion, aggressive behaviour,  and medication reduction support (e.g. anti depressants), long term health conditions; ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia.

I strive to provide you with a safe, confidential therapeutic environment. Where you will be able to be open and honest without fear of judgement. I believe in ethical practice and I am guided by my accredited body the BABCP.

How it works

CBT can be adapted to meet your needs and learning ability. Sessions last for 1 hour unless you request a 30 minute appointment. Therapy can be delivered via the telephone, online chat, skype or face to face.

The amount of sessions you need will depend on the severity of the problem on average clients have between 4 to 8 sessions either weekly or fortnightly.

Availability

I can see you for face to face appointments throughout the day or Monday and Thursday evenings. For skype, online or telephone appointments I have flexibility throughout the day and evening.

If you are unsure if CBT therapy is for you please contact me to discuss this and I will help in anyway I can.
