About Me

I’m an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist with practices in Hackney and London Bridge. People come to see me for all kinds of reasons - depression, anxiety, addictive or compulsive behaviour, trauma, loss, relationship or family problems.

Sometimes people need to make sense of one particular event or crisis but often they come to therapy because they have a feeling of hopelessness, despair or sadness that they can’t make sense of. Often it is that they struggle with relationships, or they feel stuck. Whatever the issue - even if it feels trivial - we can look at it.

I deal with a wide range of clients - different ages, lifestyle stages, social and cultural backgrounds and often those that are new to therapy. My main approach is psychodynamic. So we talk about where your problems might originate and how this impacts on your life and relationships now. I understand that your therapy has to work in the real world.

Training and qualifications

I'm a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist, registered with the BPC and FPC (British Psychoanalytic Council, Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling). I trained at WPF, which is acknowledged as one of the most rigorous trainings in the UK. I have worked as a therapist for Mind, and at the Royal College of Art.

My first degree was in art and design and my previous career in the arts and media. I have worked as a creative coach, and still write on therapy-related subjects for the national press.

I have worked for almost two decades with those with alcohol and drug problems so can work with people on any 12-Step Programme.
