Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
I’ve been working as a qualified psychotherapist for 17 years. Over that time, I’ve worked with clients face to face, over the phone, and by video link.
I started my training in 2004, and the therapeutic approach that I was naturally drawn towards is the psychodynamic model. This way of working involves looking deeply at how you think and feel. It is also a way of identifying patterns in your behaviour that might leave you feeling stuck or unhappy.
One of the most important things about having a successful experience in therapy is to develop trust in your therapist. This can take time, and I work very much at your pace so that you feel comfortable opening up.
Sometimes clients want to focus on developing practical, immediate solutions that will help in the short term. Other clients want time and space to share how they are feeling and to get to grips with who they are and what they want.
Both of these preferences are valuable, and we can work together to create a therapeutic relationship that is helpful to you.
I have experience working with clients who have depression, sadness, anxiety, and issues around self-worth. I also have an interest in helping clients develop a sense of meaningfulness in life and a sense of their own identity.
