Kimberley Hackett
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
I am a fully qualified counsellor registered with the BACP.
Life is an unknown factor, and it may often involve upsetting, stressful, or traumatic events that can negatively impact how we think, feel, and cope day today. You may have anxiety and depression and struggle with issues of low self-esteem and suicidal thoughts. Or you may have intrusive thoughts and problems controlling your anger and impulsiveness. Whatever your circumstances, I can help you to understand and interpret your thoughts and feelings in a safe and non-judgmental space, whether you are facing new troubles or struggling to cope long term. Often people may think that needing counselling is a sign of weakness, but in fact, it is a true sign of strength. I will help you explore your inner world of thoughts and feelings so you can improve your physical and mental well-being.
I have almost 8 years of experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health issues, including working in the NHS and National Probation Service alongside local and national charities. As well as private practice I currently counsel for YMCA and The Sandycroft Centre.
My specialisms include anxiety, depression, personality disorders, learning disabilities, dementia, ADHD, autism, bereavement, and post-traumatic stress, and current or historical trauma and abuse.
