Dr Katerina Georgiadis
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist offering affordable 50-minute psychotherapy sessions in person and online to adults. I provide an initial consultation (by phone or on zoom) to understand the issues you are facing and to gauge whether long-term psychoanalysis will be the right form of ‘talking therapy’ for you.
Psychoanalysis is an invitation to speak and to be curious about oneself in a safe, non-judgemental space. While founded on the ideas of Sigmund Freud, psychoanalysis today draws on a range of theories and approaches to understand the unconscious. It is both helpful in dealing with specific symptoms, such as anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive behaviours, inter alia and in addressing some of life’s bigger questions: ‘Who am I?’ ‘Who do I want to be?’ ‘What kind of life do I want to lead?’ etc. In my view, psychoanalytic psychotherapy is first and foremost a means to understand and to alleviate mental pain and suffering. It takes time and patience to witness its effects and to learn to trust the process.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and adhere to the Guild Code of Ethics as well as the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.
