I am an experienced clinician having worked in many years across a range of services - including Priory hospital, child and adolescent mental health clinics, psychosis therapeutic centres, homeless services and addictive behaviour offers. My approach to our sessions will be psychoanalytic, meaning together we will look for the individualised reasons behind your suffering through maintaining a position of curiosity in relation to your speech. Over time this approach produces self-knowledge, which can be used as a vehicle for change.
Whilst psychoanalysis cannot promise a symptom-free existence it can indeed lead to significant change through becoming acquainted with the subjective reasons that drive suffering. I believe in this clinical approach as human and empathic, accounting for realities such as division and desire lying at the heart of psychological discomfort.
Starting your therapeutic journey and asking yourself about symptoms is no easy thing to do. However, this can be facilitated by the treatment type and the clinician themselves. So do reach out for a consultation to see if this is the right space for you, before embarking on your journey into therapy.
