About Me

I am a Constructivist Psychotherapist, counsellor and Coach.

My approach is creative, patient, respectful, sensitive and practical with the aim of helping people to learn, grow and overcome life's many challenges. Currently I offer Psychotherapy, Counselling, Life Coaching and sensitive maths education online and I can also offer outdoor "walking and talking" therapy in person in the Perth (Scotland) area.

I am qualified in Personal Construct Psychology (PCP) - Psychotherapy and Counselling and registered with the UKCP. I find PCP to be an adaptable, forward thinking and optimistic psychology which lends itself to use in a wide variety of contexts and I use it in both my therapeutic and educational work.

I begin with the assumption that the way in which each of us experience and understand the world in which we live is a unique process.  From this perspective, our understandings of how the world is are central to our sense of self, the decisions we make, the options we see available to us and the way we act and interact with others.

Constructivist therapy is a joint venture between therapist and client which involves establishing a collaborative working relationship based on trust and respect. Through listening to those who seek help and gentle questioning, as well as encouragement, I help people to explore and understand their difficulties in ways that allow them to feel safe. In this way, my clients and I work alongside each other to develop the potential for alternative ways of understanding, experiencing and interacting with the world that allows a greater sense of choice and freedom.

Sometimes we may feel stuck or find ourselves acting in ways that don't seem to help us and while we are all accustomed to solving problems in our day to day lives, sometime solutions do not seem so easy to find and we may benefit from talking therapies from a therapy specialist.

I welcome anyone who thinks they might benefit from a psychological approach to their problems.
