Jane Walapu
Person-centred/humanistic psychotherapistAbout Me
I am passionate about helping my clients unlock their potential, believe in themselves, and lead a fulfilled life.
As a humanistic psychotherapist I deliver my therapy in a person-centred way, this means I’ll be working with you to help you develop a strong and healthy sense of self, explore your feelings, and find meaning in your life experiences. I’m also a qualified coach and can bring elements of coaching to the work we do together to help with moving forward and achieving future goals.
Our work is a collaborative and creative process and we’ll both commit to the time and work required to create the change you’re looking for.
Practice description
I provide a non-judgemental, safe space for us to co-create a way of working together, we’ll begin with talking about what’s brought you to therapy and what you hope to get from the process.
We’ll discuss any previous experience of therapy you may have had and any fears you have about the process. Moving forward we can make your sessions as structured (with an agenda for example) or as free flowing as you feel comfortable with.
How would we begin working together?
If you’re interested in working with me, please contact me via email and we can discuss how this could work. I’m happy to provide a free 15-minute call for us to get to know each other and understand if working with me is right for you before committing to a first session.
How long are sessions?
A therapy session is 50 minutes long, and our time together is confidential. That means I have an ethical commitment to keep everything we discuss between us unless I am concerned about a risk to yourself or others, which I would always discuss with you.
How many sessions can be provided?
I’m able to offer both short- and long-term therapy options and I won’t prescribe how many sessions you need – that’s something we can work out together and amend as needed as your sessions progress. I don’t work to a maximum session limit.
I’ve found clients experience the most change when they consistently attend sessions on a weekly basis. However, we can discuss what works best for you as I understand cost, work, and life responsibilities can sometimes make this difficult.
How do we end our sessions?
When you feel you’ve achieved what you were looking for from therapy, we can discuss finishing our sessions and work towards ending them in the most comfortable way for you.
