About Me

Effective psychotherapy can substantially improve states of anxiety, depression and impulsiveness. I work from my consulting room in Hackney and together we will seek to build a detailed picture of your life and mind, thinking carefully and creatively about the patterns and dilemmas that you have decided need to be better understood in the service of instituting positive and lasting change.

I have experience working in various contexts and with a wide scope of personalities and presenting problems, both in the NHS and in private settings. I develop relationships based on each person's specific needs and encourage critical feedback and reflection at every stage of our work. Together, we can discover resources within you that make transformation possible.

My approach is psychoanalytic (sometimes also called psychodynamic) and I do not provide quick-fix answers, directive advice, or hastily formed diagnoses. Instead, my sole aim is to facilitate meaningful and lasting internal change through a process of deep listening and an atmosphere that promotes imaginative insight and profound respect for each person's particular personality and experiences.

An initial consultation will cost £85 and will last for 90 minutes. We would usually meet at least once more to discuss together the best path forward for you. During this consultation period we will discuss any questions you may have about psychotherapy, including your desires for what therapy can give you and important practical matters such as frequency of sessions, fees, and reflections on our suitability for one another.
