About Me

Welcome

If you are a woman who is seeking to feel safe with a therapist, my goal is to provide you with a feeling of trust and security. I believe that when you are relaxed, open and comfortable, that is when the most fruitful work can take place. Perhaps you aren't sure how to put into words what you're going through, you just know that you need to speak to someone. If you have been frustrated in the past at people who try to 'put you in a box' or are unable to recognise your complexity and honour your life experiences, feeling truly understood is probably an imperative part of therapy for you. I am here to dive with you into the darkness, even to the scary places that are hard to visit, with acceptance.

My Approach

I am a person-centred therapist and will centre your unique needs, grounded in empathy, authenticity and non-judgement. I will guide you on the path you are taking towards who you truly are, as a companion on the journey to help keep you safe and supported. However, I don't believe that I know what is best for you, although I can provide suggestions based on my training and professional experience. I also won't make false promises, but instead use talking therapy to explore what is on your mind. I fuse classical talking therapy with directive psychological interventions, as it allows us to collaboratively tailor your therapy to you as an individual. You are unique and your therapy should be, too.

What Could Therapy Do For You?

I believe that therapy is an incredibly unique journey for everyone. You may have a specific goal in mind, for example that you want to have less negative thoughts about yourself or that you want to find healthier coping mechanisms for suffering. I would work with you to reach these goals in a therapeutic capacity, and you may find yourself free of burdens you thought you could never live without. You may want to discuss traumas and difficulties you have encountered in life, and use therapy as a safe space to process the past. Sometimes when we say things out loud to another person, our words can transform us in ways we might not expect.

Specialities

I specialise in female mental health. As a crisis operator for SHOUT, I have specialist knowledge of working with suicidal thoughts and self-harm. I was interviewed by Cosmopolitan Magazine about my work on the frontline of the female suicide crisis and gained a further qualification in this area. My agency work has primarily been with clients referred to me from Georgia's Voice, a support group for women with a focus on suicide prevention and female empowerment. My particular areas of interest are: chronic self-harm, severe anxiety, depression, family dynamics, body image, anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, relationships, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, panic attacks, childhood trauma, issues with sex, adult nightmares, EUPD.

Services

I work in person from a consultation room in The Eaves therapy practice, Guildford. This is a calm, private space that is easy to reach and with plenty of free parking. I also provide tele-health appointments using a secure platform.
