Helena COOK
Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a qualified psychotherapist with a private practice working face-to-face on a weekly or twice-weekly basis with men and women. Therapy with me is confidential and governed by strict ethical guidelines set by the professional bodies of which I am a member.
I am open to working with clients on a wide range of issues. You may have long-standing problems that you have always struggled with; or perhaps the sudden shock of bereavement or from a recent traumatic event; suicidal feelings or the loss of someone close to you to suicide; difficulties with relationships or in the work place or with your family; a lack of self esteem and self confidence; or simply a sense of discontent and unhappiness getting in the way of life or relationships. I specialise in peri-natal work supporting you through miscarriage, infant loss, fertility issues, the challenges of donor conception, parenting issues and ante-natal and post-natal depression and anxiety.
I can offer you open-ended therapy or a shorter term programme of perhaps up to 12 weekly sessions, depending on what you are looking for. Therapy lasts as long as it is helpful for you - different for every person but guided always by your needs and wishes.
No problem is too big or too small for therapy. Seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness but rather an indication of inner strength and self-care which I can support.
